The lunch packet drive that was held yesterday was an enormous success. We, the LSF committee offer a big Thank You to all of you who bought the food packets, made generous donations and encouraged us in many ways.
We were overwhelmed by the demand received and we apologise to those who missed out as we had to have a deadline for the orders due to limited time and resources.
Without your support this event could not have been possible.
We assure you the money raised, will be spent where it’s most needed with transparency and accountability.
We very much appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to see you at our usual “All You can Eat Dinner” next year.

In December 2021, LSF shipped a 40ft container with 32 hospital beds, 36 patient monitors, 15 infusion pumps, 12 defibrillators and other medical equipment, estimated at A$ 389,000, donated by hospitals in New South Wales to Sri Lanka. These have been distributed directly to needy public hospitals in Sri Lanka, and a brief report is attached. Also attached is a brief report of our previous shipment in October 2020.
The total cost of shipping, clearing and transport was approximately A$11,500. An email campaign launched earlier this year raised $5,500. The balance has been temporarily covered by LSF reserves and private funds.
In order to raise the remaining funds of $6,000 and also to fund other LSF projects in Sri Lanka, LSF is organising a Food Packet Drive on Saturday, 4th of June 2022.
Price per food packet: $10
Menu: White Rice, Dhal Curry, Beans, Batu Moju, Fried Cashews, Papadum, either with Chicken Curry or Fish Ambul Thiyal or Polos Ambula
Dessert: Watalappan $2 per serve.
